HiP Adds ASTRAGAUGE High Pressure Gauges

Erie, PA - December 11, 2018 - High Pressure Equipment Company (HiP), a subsidiary of Graco Inc., has added the full line of ASTRAGAUGE high pressure gauges, ROTASEAL high pressure swivels and high pressure Gauge Snubbers to their product offering through its acquisition of ASTRAGAUGE. ASTRAGAUGE has a long established reputation for producing highly accurate and reliable bourdon-tube style gauges for pressures up to 150,000 psi. HiP will manufacture all ASTRAGAUGE products in their Erie, Pennsylvania, ISO9001:2015 certified, headquarters facility.

ASTRAGAUGE high pressure gauges feature a helical bourdon-tube style element manufactured of cold drawn and cold formed high strength stainless steel to provide excellent measurement accuracy of 1/2 of 1 percent ascending pressure and a longer life. These gauges are available in 14 pressure ranges from 7,500 to 150,000 psi for oxygen, gas and water service. ASTRAGAUGE uses a turret-type heavy-duty sealed aluminum case with a 6 inch polycarbonate front window and can be wall or flush mounted. Gauges to 100,000 psi have a 1/4 inch high pressure connection, and gauges from 75,000 to 150,000 psi are available in 3/8 inch or 5/8 inch high pressure connections.

ROTASEAL high pressure swivels were developed for waterjet cutting applications where a rotating connection is required to conduct the high pressure water safely and without leaks. ROTASEAL is offered in right angle or straight-through configurations for pressures and flows to 60,000 psi and 15 gpm. ROTASEAL is constructed of 17-4 PH SS and 316 SS for all wetted parts to deliver long service life and corrosion resistance.

The Gauge Snubber is a device used to "smooth" out the pressure fluctuations created by reciprocating pumps commonly required for waterjet cutting. This smoothing action allows for more accurate pressure indication and extends the life and calibration of the pressure gauge. Gauge snubbers are available in 1/4 inch and 3/8 inch high pressure connections for pressures to 60,000 psi.
